Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 (based on experience, education, certifications, and skills)
Travel: Up to 25%
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in process or chemical manufacturing environments and enjoys leading facility and equipment improvement projects. You will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to design, test, and refine equipment, while also ensuring processes meet safety, quality, and compliance standards.
This is a hands-on position with responsibilities spanning project management, troubleshooting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead facility and manufacturing improvement projects, including project planning, budgeting, and ROI calculations.
Test, develop, and refine new and existing equipment to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Provide direct support to maintenance and production teams, troubleshooting mechanical and process issues.
Apply continuous improvement and root cause analysis techniques to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.
Ensure all products, systems, and processes comply with applicable codes and standards.
Support the development of capital projects and documentation using TPM tools and six-step management methodology.
Conduct training sessions to support the implementation of new equipment and processes.
Report on project progress regularly and provide updates to stakeholders.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of industry experience, preferably in chemical or process manufacturing.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings.
Advanced troubleshooting skills in mechanical, motion, and hydraulic systems.
Basic troubleshooting knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation devices, and PLCs.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver results.
Preferred:
Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Navisworks).
Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
Background in chemical manufacturing.
