About The Role:
- Work closely with Product Management, Technical Service, Technical Training, HVAC Replacement Components, Application Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales and Supplier Quality teams to understand, document, and execute the required market deliverables for New Product Development and Product Sustaining programs.
- Support and resolve requirement conflicts among stakeholders and supplied product actual performance with program leaders.
- Support the review and approval of requirements documentation versus actual product capabilities throughout the development process.
- Plan and execute qualification testing of sourced Ductless products.
- Complete modeling and testing responsibilities as required by projects.
- Collaborate with Quality/Reliability to implement key metrics into the design of the product and ensure all reliability design goals are achieved.
Role Responsibilities:
- You will lead product development and qualification processes in the design, validation, and release of Ductless Split and Crossover Systems.
- You will have the opportunity to work on all parts of Ductless products (condensing units, fan coils, controls, agency certification, and qualification)
- You will work with the broader Carrier, overseas suppliers and domestic production partner teams in the launch, and compliance of North American regulatory and certification of Ductless Split systems and controls.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
OR
- Master’s degree in engineering with 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work with others on design teams to understand and translate design and process engineering requirements into product line design components, subsystems and products.
- Ability to understand product/component function, reliability and quality requirements.
- In Depth understanding of refrigeration systems, and/or electrical system requirements in order to assess internal data and supplier data.
- Familiarity with design and development of indoor and outdoor Ductless /VRF systems a plus.
- In Depth understanding of electronic controls function in HVAC equipment a plus.
- In Depth understanding of industry-accepted system engineering tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, Psychrometrics)
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a globally diverse audience.
- Ability to speak Mandarin is a plus.
- Experience with AHRI 1230 or AHRI 210/240, USE, ULE, and/or VRF certification programs a plus.
- Experience with UL 1995 and/or UL/IEC 60335-1 and UL/IEC 60335-2-40 safety standards a plus.
- Experience with hands on psychrometric testing a plus.
- Intermediate level skills with Microsoft; Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
- Self-starter with ability to learn quickly, work independently.
- Experience working in a team environment with cross functional support groups (Product Quality, Supplier Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing, Sourcing)
- Organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities.

Pay Range:
$74,181 - $130,206 Annually
