At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Our multi-disciplined Process Engineering team performs hands-on problem solving in a collaborative and fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are subject matter experts for processes and materials in a cleanroom environment which focuses on radiofrequency (RF) microelectronic packaging and surface mount technology. This hands-on role confronts new projects and challenges every day and requires cross-functional collaboration in both cutting-edge automation and mature production processes. We develop and implement materials and process improvements to our factory, while providing production support using a variety of analytical techniques, including statistical process control, predictive equipment maintenance, material analysis, and root cause analysis. We perform the evaluation of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) and interface with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

We are a team of highly engaged engineers and technicians from a variety of experience levels who sustain a culture of support, growth, and recognition. We are specifically seeking candidates who are hands-on, enjoy diving deep into technical requirements, proactive, accountable, good communicators, adaptable in a fast-paced environment, experienced in automated manufacturing, and ready to solve unique problems daily.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Microwave Automated Factory (an ISO Class 8 clean room environment) in high-volume, high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to equipment, process, material, and product problems.

  • Support assembly processes involving laser and resistance seam welding and various leak check methods meeting military requirements (i.e. MIL-PRF-38534 and MIL-STD-883).

  • Work hand-in-hand with product engineers, quality engineers, reliability engineers, and manufacturing engineers on product manufacturing.

  • Develop and implement materials, processes, process improvements, and production support using established statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis.

  • Evaluate materials, equipment and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development) and interface with key internal and external suppliers to resolve technical issues.

  • Ability to spend 8+ hours per day in a clean room environment, following clean room and electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures.

  • This role is for a day shift (start time range: 6 AM - 8 AM) with potential for 9/80 schedule

Qualifications You Must Have

  • 1+ years experience/background in laser or resistance seam welding and/or leak check methods for hermetic packaging.

  • 2+ years experience identifying key process parameters and implementing process control.

  • 2+ years experience navigating technical requirements within military standards and other engineering data packages (i.e. product drawings).

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment.
