Job Description
You will be supporting the ongoing manufacture of the F-35 Center Wing and Horizontal Tail / Vertical Tail (HT/VT) in Marietta, GA. The Center Wing is one quarter of the Lightning II’s fuselage and the aircraft’s largest single component built with several automated processes. The HT/VT’s include robotically applied state of the art coatings.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Manufacturing Engineer Senior Autodrill/NC Programming/Automated Equipment Support), you will be responsible for creating/updating programs for numerically controlled machines and collaborating with a team to support shop floor operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create programs for numerically controlled machines using engineering drawings and models
- Analyze engineering drawings and determine the appropriate machining strategy, cutting tools, Programming parameters, and work holding fixture needs.
-Analyze engineering Changes to incorporate new programing changes/machine changes
- Support shop floor by troubleshooting issues
- Identify opportunities to improve current processes
- Support Non-Conforming Product Investigations and RCCA in relation to Autodrill or Automated Drilling Processes
- Research, test and implement new machining technology, cutters and equipment
- Collaborate and brainstorm with teammates and leadership to develop strategies in support of future Capital Expenditure Projects and or Continuous Improvement Initiatives

- NC programming experience
- Experience with process improvement and problem solving experience
- Experience with cutting tools and good machining practices
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Desired skills
-Bachelors degree with 5 years experience in machining and/or Numerical Control programming/ Manufacturing Engineering
Experience or Support Roles (IE, QE, MRB) on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter or similar military fighter jets.
- AutoCAD or Catia V5 experience
- Experience programming 3-5 axis mills and mill turn machines for a variety of materials
- Experience with Autodrill Machines and or Automated Equipment/Robots used to drill holes in Materials (Aluminum, Titanium, Composite, etc.)
- Ability to design fixturing/workholding solutions
- Experience evaluating new designs and working with engineering to improve part machinability.
-Experience leading the development and implementation of new tools and processes
-Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Access, etc)

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $81,600 - $143,865. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
