We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach who can collaborate with product engineering, operations, and quality to deliver world-class manufacturing solutions. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in fabrication equipment and processes (press brakes, laser cutting, welding), lean manufacturing knowledge, and leadership in driving productivity and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Be a business partner with operations leader and oversee implementation of shop floor improvement projects and document progress.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to introduce new products and processes into manufacturing (NPI/NPD).
  • Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to establish lean manufacturing systems.
  • Evaluate and implement new equipment, tooling, and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues using tools like 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping).
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and production teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor and report on manufacturing performance metrics (OEE, yield, cycle time, scrap rate).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or process engineering roles.
  • High Mix / Low Volume Batch Build processes preferred.
  • Proven experience in process design, production optimization, and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Experience managing and implementing CAPEX projects.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.).
  • Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, or pFMEA.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and manufacturing simulation tools.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment and processes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, Lean Certification).
  • Experience in material handling equipment a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC machining, automation, or PLC programming a plus.
  • ERP/MRP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

The base salary range for this role is $87,600 to $131,300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
