Overview
Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE "HAYW") is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world, with a significant presence in the commercial pool market that is continuously growing. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. This position is based in Clemmons, NC.
As a Manufacturing Engineer at Hayward, you will “own the Process” by developing and optimizing manufacturing processes to produce products that meet all specifications. You'll work closely with the Product Engineering team to ensure products are robust, repeatable, and capable of high-quality performance. This role involves hands-on collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Innovate and Improve: Develop, evaluate, and enhance manufacturing methods and standards to boost product quality and operational efficiency.
- Optimize Layouts: Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Design efficient equipment layouts and workspace configurations.
- Collaborate for Success: Work with Product Engineering on design for manufacturing and assembly, ensuring seamless integration from design to production.
- Equipment Management: Specify and procure assembly equipment, focusing on automation and advanced technology to improve manufacturing processes.
- Production Planning: Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs, providing insights for informed management decisions.
- Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with management, engineering, and production teams to facilitate effective production processes.
- Data-Driven Approach: Apply statistical methods to forecast future manufacturing needs and identify improvement opportunities.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as needed to support operational goals.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks).
- Experience with MRP and process monitoring software preferred.
- Familiarity with assembly equipment, automation, and Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills to present ideas and collaborate with management, engineers, vendors, and assembly teams.
- Ability to navigate technical instructions and resolve abstract challenges.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
- 5+ years of related engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with automation and robotics is advantageous.
