Summary
The ideal candidate will have significant quality experience in an organization that manufactures highly technical products and engineering solutions. They will lead the global quality priorities including manufacturing quality, quality through the supply base, new product quality, quality management systems, and the customer quality experience. They will also drive excellence in Manufacturing Engineering through managing projects supporting Sustaining engineering and Advanced technology implementation, with an intent to improve Safety, Quality & Productivity. They will have the desire to be a major contributor to new product development programs and lead teams of quality/ manufacturing engineers to integrate multiple technologies into successful products. They will be self-starting and self-directing, with a strong desire to lead, collaborate and grow with others in the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
· Develop a global vision for the Synrad Quality System which focuses on customers, continuous improvement, growth and profitability.
· Successfully represent Synrad in front of customers and resolve key customer quality issues. Ensures effective, timely communication and complete problem resolution.
· Develop and implement a quality organization structure that supports strategic initiatives, organic and inorganic growth.
· Ensure that procedures for process control, process improvement, test and inspection exist are followed.
· Train and manage root-cause analysis and other problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements.
· Oversee/ ensure effective adoption and implementation of the Change Management process
· Drive Capital purchases and Advanced manufacturing projects for the area with ownership driving approvals through to implementation
· Ensure compliance to all ISO certifications and both internal and external quality audits are performed professionally and necessary follow up actions are completed on time.
· Serve as Management Representative for all Mukilteo Management Systems and Compliance requirements.
· Actively lead deployment of the NGS (Novanta Growth System) initiatives and lead adoption of NGS continuous principles in the area.
· Review customer contracts and change requests to ensure the necessary criteria/ provisions are included in quality and process plans.
· Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
· Establish and Drive metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions.
· Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and ensure effective corrective action.
Supervisory Responsibility:
· This position manages all Senior Quality (Value Stream Quality Leaders) as well as Manufacturing/Quality engineers.
· Employees of the incoming Quality inspection department.
· The candidate will directly manage a small team of highly qualified advanced senior manufacturing/test manufacturing engineers
· Oversight over the Change mgmt./ Document Control administrator
· Responsible for the talent strategy, performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Master’s Degree preferred.
· Ten (10) years of experience in a Manufacturing environment, with two (2) years in the capacity as a manufacturing/process engineer.
· Five (5) years of Quality experience encompassing QA systems implementation, management, Supplier quality and/or mfg. quality.
· Three (3) years in supervisory or leadership roles.
· Experience dealing directly with customers on matters related to customer quality and overall satisfaction.
· Experience in a medium-size manufacturing environment preferred.
· Proven track record of leveraging continuous improvement and Kaizen methodologies to deliver business results.
Travel Requirements
· Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally, if necessary, up to 20%.

· Sit and Stand while performing job duties.
Compensation and Benefits
· The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000 up to $170,000 depending on the geographic market.
· Dependent on the position offered, annual bonuses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.
