As a Sr Manager, Equipment and Controls leading Engineering support for production, you will be trusted to support, improve, design, develop, and implement new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods at our Manufacturing Facility in Johns Creek, GA!

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Strategize, plan, and manage the operating budget, CAPEX (Capital), and KPIs.

• Provide strategic direction from an engineering and technical perspective on the growth plan of the organization and spearhead the New Product Introduction (NPI) and/or new technology transfer initiative.

• Initiate an improvement plan to help achieve business objectives and cultivate the Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset in the team to drive improvement projects to meet/exceed quality, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), productivity, and cost targets.

• Actively involve team engagement by providing coaching and guidance to help overcome obstacles.

• Develop a comprehensive career development plan and retention strategies for the team.

• Promote teamwork / collaboration, drive innovation, and lead team to achieve business goals.

• Pro-actively engage and coordinate with other manufacturing sites and division functions (e.g. MTO divisions, Global Engineering, Regulatory Affairs) to ensure consistency and standard practice within the same technology platform.

• Design the sequence of production operations, specify procedures for the fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapt machinery in response to factory conditions.

• Conduct tests throughout all stages of production to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshoot/solve production problems.

• Provide guidance to equipment/ process design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Ensuring that production processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

What You’ll Bring to Alcon:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)

• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

• 7 Years of Relevant Experience

• Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST

• Location: Onsite

• Travel Requirements: 0 – 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high volume and highly automated production operations, preferably in the medical devices industry, semiconductor industry, and/or lean six sigma manufacturing.

• In-depth understanding of OEE and the inter-dependencies to drive sustainable production performance and Return-on-Investment (ROI).
  Proven hands-on experience in managing CAPEX (Capital) and departmental budgets with strong financial acumen.

• Good understanding of ISO13485, cGMP/GDP & HSE/ISO14001 practices.

• Supervisory, management, and leadership skills.
