Job Summary & Essential Functions
Facilitate engineering functions through the distinct stages a product or system undergoes from NPI handoff through its complete product lifecycle. This job will also include technical support for Supply Chain as required. This position will resolve issues with new production and RMA returns from the field.
- Perform Product Engineering support for existing and new products
- Provide Engineering assistance in various areas and processes, including but not limited, to Supply Chain and RMAs
- Provide Engineering assistance to Program Managers on existing product technical issues
- Resolve problems on production runs dealing with part, production, and engineering issues
- Interface with customer and project team; resolve any issues (example – quality, design, process and parts)
- Coordinate any Design for Manufacturability DFM studies with design engineering if production is seeing ongoing issues that could be caused by the initial design
- Coordinate with Process, Quality, Test and Design Engineer on different projects
- Research efficiencies and different steps of the product lifecycle and enter requests for time studies in different areas as needed
- Coordinate activities with multiple departments as existing models and projects are run through production
- Write Internal Change Request documentation to modify routers or BOMs on existing products
- Manage multiple projects using a controlled process
- Create intelligent solutions to issues and problems and recommend resolution to internal teams and customers
- Mentor and train other engineers in this discipline
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Advanced Knowledge of SMT, Selective soldering and Wave soldering operations
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Advanced ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization
- Advanced ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
- Advanced Ability to communicate with customers projecting the company image to attract business
- Advanced level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), preferred
- Expert knowledge and use of applicable workmanship or other acceptability standards
- Intermediate Knowledge of machine shop operations
- Intermediate Knowledgeable of ERP systems, preferably (CSI) CloudSuite Industrial
- Intermediate ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings, production drawings, wiring drawings, and electronic schematic diagrams, and routers
- Proven experience mentoring other engineers
- Ability to facilitate meetings
- Ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities
- Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in BSEE, BSEET, or related field with 7 years of relevant job experience or Associate’s degree in same, with 9 years of relevant job experience
- 3 years of previous project management experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
