Are you ready to make an impact in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment? As a Senior Industrial Controls Engineer, you’ll support a diverse manufacturing plant with multiple value streams, taking ownership of controls activities such as sustaining projects, change control, new equipment design and commissioning, issue resolution, and continuous improvement. By driving automation and implementing world-class best practices, you’ll help ensure Epredia delivers excellent results. Reporting to the Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you’ll work alongside a dynamic team of engineers while gaining hands-on experience with unique processes and developing valuable skills in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

What you will be doing:
- Design and execute Validation and/or Qualification exercises
- Lead/Collaborate with internal and external Teams in defining and designing controls of legacy and new equipment. Owns the responsibility to ensure that the instrumentation and automation systems are designed and operating to meet production/product requirements.
- Lead/Mentor Technical Teams in the repairs of equipment and resolution of downtime.
- Serve as a technical liaison for all levels of the company including production/maintenance employees, plant technical and management resources, marketing, R&D organizations, customers and other plants.
- Design and execute Validation and/or Qualification exercises in accordance with FDA General principles of Software Validation.
- Ensure processes and equipment fully comply with Safety, QMS and CGMP requirements.
- Configure, program, test, and debug automation equipment and systems such as PLCs, HMIs, VFDs for motor controls, and data collection.
- Design electrical cabinets for control and data acquisition systems. This includes electrical schematics, component selection, and panel layouts.
- Support investigations in product quality problems, determines root cause, gather and analyze data and implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate cause. Owns and executes completion of CAPA actions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives per CI tools used in Business Operating System.
- Provide support and own tasks as needed for New Product Introduction, Change Control and Sustaining Projects.
- Support Capital Expense planning, documentation and execution.
- Conduct capacity studies, enhance system reliability, and identify/implement productivity improvements including new technologies.
- Develop/maintain strategic technical improvement plans for systems.
- Actively participate in definition of quality requirements and justification of acceptance limits to assure compliance with requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement. Recommend solutions to identified problems. Implement approved changes using sound engineering principles and fully document requirements on a timely basis.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Operations to Identify and resolve production and quality system deficiencies.
- Assist in the development of a safe working environment using occupational safety and health standards, including ergonomic principles.

Skills you will need:
- 10+ years’ experience in controls/systems engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant Engineering Discipline. (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Must be capable of working for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Work standing on hard surfaces, ladders, under and around equipment.
- Be a self-starter, work without supervision, able to set up work plan and material requirement, coordinate with colleagues, contractor and clients to carry out the work assigned.
- Advanced computer skills, Windows Suite, CAD, Label design.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in programming/testing of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and HMI’s for use in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in Process Validation principles and methodologies.
- Proven track record in development and commissioning of equipment.
- Proven track record of Project Management.
- Proven track record of driving Continuous improvement.
- Preferred experience in glass substrates, screen printing, and medical device manufacturing.
- Preferred Knowledge of process historians (OSI PI, FactoryTalk Historian)
