Tempel is looking to add a Senior Industrial Analytics Engineer to our team! The Senior Industrial Analytics Engineer will play a key role in building and scaling Tempel’s analytics foundation across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and corporate functions. This role focuses on transforming data from disparate and legacy systems into trusted, analytics-ready datasets, standardized business metrics, and automated reporting solutions.
Working closely with business stakeholders, Digital, and IT, this individual will help deliver consistent, actionable insights that improve visibility into performance and drive measurable improvements in quality, throughput, cost, and service. This role also supports the broader data and AI strategy by enabling scalable, well-structured analytical assets.

Location & Work Authorization:
We are open to candidates located in either the Chicago, IL or Columbus, OH area for this hybrid position. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to one of these locations or be willing to self-relocate at their own expense prior to employment.

Responsibilities:
Build and maintain analytics-ready datasets by integrating data from ERP, quality, and other operational systems
Design and develop reusable data models, curated datasets, and standardized business logic
Define and govern KPI and metric definitions across key functional areas
Develop dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that deliver actionable insights to business and operations teams
Automate recurring reporting and data processes to improve efficiency and reliability
Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into scalable analytics solutions
Support advanced analytics use cases (e.g., forecasting, trend analysis, root-cause analysis) through well-structured data
Document data transformations, definitions, and lineage to support transparency and reuse
Collaborate with Digital, IT, and external partners to align with enterprise data and governance standards
Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility, analytics efficiency, and business performance
Desired Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
5–8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data-related roles
Strong experience working with complex or legacy data environments, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings
Proven ability to deliver analytics solutions that drive business value
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in SQL
Experience with Python or similar tools for data transformation and analysis
Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Experience with ERP, quality systems, or operational data sources preferred

Strong data modeling and analytics engineering capabilities
Ability to translate business needs into practical analytical solutions
