Sr. Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic

Location: Dayton, TX

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay: To $50.00 per hour based on experience/qualifications

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems on heavy construction equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, fluid changes, and minor diesel engine repairs
  • Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
  • Travel to customer job sites within the assigned region as needed for equipment service, repairs, and operator training
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company and industry standards
  • Provide customers with guidance on equipment operation and maintenance best practices

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • 7+ years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment - must have 7+ years to be considered
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
  • Experience using digital voltmeters (DVMs)
  • Working knowledge of CANbus systems and PLCs
  • Ability to provide personal tools required for the position
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination

Preferred

  • 10+ years of heavy construction equipment experience
  • Welding experience
  • Advanced diesel engine troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Experience working independently in both shop and field service environments
  • Prior experience training or mentoring technicians
