Senior Engineer, Raytheon I4.0 Automation Systems Engineer (Sensors) - Onsite

Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Connected Factory & Intelligence (CFI&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) team member to join our Team within the Sensors portfolio.
The role includes sustaining and developing physical automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems) and their integration with business systems. Also, the role will encompass the design, development, and implementation of new automation solutions and advanced IIoT / Industry 4.0 technologies in support of manufacturing. To that end, bridging the gap between physical and digital automation by leveraging Ignition to deploy machine connectivity and visualization solutions will be a critical part of the role.
What You Will Learn
This role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to drive new innovations across Raytheon. The role has a foundation in controls engineering but offers significant opportunities for growth including developing new automation opportunities, quantifying business value, presenting to leadership, and then coordinating across functions to execute initiatives. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative and diverse team of engineers and leaders.
This position is an onsite role in Andover, MA.
What You Will Do:
Continuously improve and troubleshoot deployed automation systems
Integrate and manage spares inventory for active and upcoming systems
Collaborate with the factory to identify and execute both in-house and externally developed process automation systems.
These can span both physical and digital automation
Full project lifecycle control – from requirements generation to technical project management to execution & sustainment of automation project
Program front end visualizations in Ignition to enable data driven decisions that dictate actionable changes & priorities
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires Bachelor Degree in Engineering
5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or 3+ years (including relevant internships)applicable experience with an advanced STEM degree
Experience with automation mechanisms, controls, robotics, and/or vision systems
Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
Microprocessor or Programmable Logic Controller Programming
Python or Ignition based scripting experience
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Keyence, Cognex, iRVision experience
Programming Experience

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
