Job Summary:
The Senior Electronic Technician supports engineering development activities through advanced troubleshooting, prototype assembly, testing, modification, and maintenance of electronic systems, assemblies, and laboratory equipment used in product development. This role performs complex technical work involving circuit-level diagnostics, board bring-up, instrumentation setup, failure analysis, and prototype support while partnering closely with engineers to support development priorities. The position requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
6+ years of progressively responsible experience in electronics technician, engineering lap support, prototype development, or related technical roles
Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting analog and digital electronic circuits
Advanced micro-soldering and rework skills, including surface-mount and through-hole components and fine-pitch electronic assemblies
Proficiency using standard electronic lab instrumentation and diagnostic equipment
Ability to perform precision component replacement and repair on PCB assemblies
Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation
Strong technical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting prototype development within medical device, regulated manufacturing, or other high-reliability product development environments
Experience supporting failure analysis, component evaluation, and laboratory test setup activities
Familiarity with engineering change processes, technical documentation requirements, and quality-driven product development environments
Prior experience providing technical guidance or support to junior technicians

Compensation:
The anticipated hourly range for this position is $33/hr - $39/hr plus benefits. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
Physical requirements/Work environment:
This position primarily works in a laboratory environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities.
