Sr. Electrical Engineer
Department: New Product Development
Position Reports To: Sr. Manager, Engineering
Summary
Designs, develops, and implements new vertical material lift products. Works with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and safety.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design and development of new vertical material lift products from concept to production.
- Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
- Perform detailed electrical calculations and simulations to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and other team members to integrate electrical systems into overall product designs.
- Conduct testing and validation of electrical components and systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Write and test computer programming for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs and other controllers over networks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during the development and production phases.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other engineers and technicians.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and material handling technologies.
- Other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of five years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on new product development.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar).
- Strong understanding of electrical components, circuits, and systems.
- Experience with PLC programming and control systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Travel up to 10% per year
- Physical Requirements include: Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 25 pounds.
