Our Grand Rapids MI location is currently seeking an Sr. CAD Engineer. This role is responsible for making any necessary changes to Engineering documentation to accommodate a “special” or customization of standard product. Additionally, this role makes necessary changes to the standard CAD models/drawings and/or creating new models/drawings to support a customized solution. Additional tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Change CAD models and drawings to reflect the customization of products.
  • Develop engineered solutions to customers’ unique product needs.
  • Consult with production personnel to determine best approach to manufacturing a product.
  • Interface with various functional areas, specifically Sales, Quoting, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Scheduling and Purchasing.
  • Work with New Product Development Engineering to optimize Engineering documentation between standard product and specials.
  • Apply advanced engineering and design skills to work assignments. 
  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills to work assignments and implement appropriate countermeasures. 
  • Ability to serve as a team lead and/or subject matter expert for the department.



Educational and Technical Requirements include:

  • Associate’s degree in engineering or technical discipline and 15 years of applicable experience is required and/or a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical discipline and 10 years of applicable experience is required.
  • 10 years of AutoCAD experience is required.
  • 10 years of SolidWorks experience is required.
  • Advanced experience with GD&T. 
  • Office furniture experience is preferred.
