The Raytheon Industry 4.0 – Connected Factory Intelligence and Automation (CFI&A) department has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer team member to join the team.

As an Automation Systems Engineering team member, you will be responsible for leading the continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed automation systems solutions in support of manufacturing. This position includes developing physical automation solutions with a strong focus on collaborative robotics, electrical system designs, system level integration, vision system and integration with business systems (primarily using Ignition).

This position is Onsite in Forest, MS

This position does NOT offer relocation assistance

What you will do:

Lead the sustainment, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing automation systems, including PLCs, robots, and vision platforms.

Support the evaluation, deployment, and integration of collaborative robots into new and existing manufacturing processes to support labor efficiency, ergonomic improvements and increased throughput

Design and develop detailed electrical schematics for automation cells and control panels, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards

Partner with cross-functional teams to assess factory needs, define system requirements, and deliver robust automation solutions aligned with production goals.

Program, integrate, and support Fanuc industrial robots and vision systems

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and integrators to source and validate new automation technologies.

Qualifications you must have:

Typically requires BS in an Engineering field or the sciences (STEM with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or 3+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering.

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Experience with industrial robots and programing PLC's.

Experience with automation sustainment and troubleshooting, including knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings and schematics.

Experience with industrial vision systems configuration and deployment

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to translate complex technical solutions into practical business outcomes

Qualifications we Prefer:

Active DOD Secret Clearance.

Experience with deploying complex IIOT based systems.

Experience with Cognex, FANUC and/or Keyence vision systems.

Industrial Programming experience

HMI & SCADA Development

Good knowledge of safety regulations (e.g. OSHA) and electrical compliances.

Experience with control systems design (AutoCAD preferred).

Professional experience with the full life-cycle deployment and integration of automation systems (vision, robotics, servo, controls, etc.).

Typically requires:

The salary range for this role is 73,000 USD - 147,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
