Job Description
In a manufacturing environment, drives the long-range strategic planning process for operations by overseeing and managing manufacturing operations within department. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel.
Responsible for production operations, maintenance, plant engineering, safety, quality control, scheduling, accounting, and personnel.
Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
Plans and administers procedures and budgets.
Makes budgetary recommendations and at higher levels, controls capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor. Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.
Works with support team members to prioritize work in the manufacturing area, raises any roadblocks and quality issues to appropriate functions for action.
Works to identify and drive improvememt projects that support the continuous improvement of product flow.
Monitors, maintains, and actions metrics and KPIs for the team including but not limited to Safety, Cost, Quality, Schedule.
Monitors headcount and workload capacity.
Interviews and selects candidates based on area needs.
Maintains cross-training opportunities and team flexibility.
