Greif’s Riverville mechanical project engineering position: be a part of a multi-discipline engineering department at Greif’s flagship Riverville paper mill. The complex produces 100% recycled linerboard and semi-chem/ recycled medium board on two separate paper machines. This position reports directly to a senior project engineer and will be engaged primarily in process mechanical project design work. With the opportunity for exposure to construction and minor construction management as well as exposure to mill operations. You will be a member of a small engineering department with exposure to active design projects and efforts.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist then lead engineering & construction assignments and ongoing projects
  • Familiarize yourself with departmental functions
  • Contribute meaningfully to performance goals and assigned projects
  • Applying classroom education to a manufacturing environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
  • Minimum completion of two years or more of college preferred prior to the start of your internship
  • Good academic standing with your engineering department and school
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Able to work 40 hours for the duration of the co-op (January 6, 2025, to May 16, 2025)
  • Able to complete multiple rotations alternating semesters on/off, target 3, minimum 2
  • Able to sit stand and walk throughout the day

What sets you apart:

  • Strong academic background, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Understanding of basic engineering principles and relevant functions
  • Relevant work experience or involvement with professional clubs/organizations
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team
  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills particularly mechanical in nature
  • Interest or knowledge in 3D &2D modeling software, preferred SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, time management, analytical, and adaptability skills
