Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Spot Welder / Resistance Welder to join a manufacturing team. This position is responsible for joining metal components using spot welding and resistance welding equipment while following work instructions, drawings, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate has previous manufacturing or welding experience, is comfortable working with small metal components, and has strong attention to detail. Candidates with general welding or fabrication experience who are willing to learn resistance welding may also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Operate spot welding and resistance welding machines to join metal parts and components
- Position and align parts, fixtures, and electrodes prior to welding
- Set up equipment according to work instructions and production requirements
- Perform repetitive welds while maintaining consistent quality
- Inspect completed welds for proper placement, strength, appearance, and overall quality
- Read and follow basic blueprints, drawings, work orders, and specifications
- Use measuring tools and gauges as required
- Identify defective welds or parts and report quality concerns
- Make basic machine adjustments within established procedures
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Follow established manufacturing and safety procedures
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized
- Meet daily production and quality expectations
- Work closely with Quality, Production, and other manufacturing team members
Qualifications
- Previous spot welding, resistance welding, production welding, or metal fabrication experience preferred
- Experience operating resistance welding equipment is highly desirable
- Basic understanding of welding processes and metal components
- Ability to read basic blueprints or manufacturing drawings preferred
- Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to inspect work and recognize welding or quality defects
- Comfortable performing repetitive production work
- Ability to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions
- Dependable attendance and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Welding training, certification, or related technical education is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements
- Ability to safely lift and move materials as required
- Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and other protective equipment
Ideal Candidate: Someone with hands-on manufacturing experience who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable producing consistent, quality welds in a production environment.
