Apex Placement & Consulting is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Spot Welder for a manufacturing client in Sterling Heights, MI. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on manufacturing experience who is comfortable operating welding equipment, performing quality checks, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
The Spot Welder will operate single- and dual-tip, pedal-activated spot welders/resistance welding equipment to produce quality parts according to established specifications. This position also requires equipment inspections, quality checks, material handling, and maintaining a safe and organized work area.

What your day will look like:
- Operate single- and dual-tip pedal-activated spot welders/resistance welding equipment
- Follow all procedures outlined in the spot welder operating manual
- Perform pre-operation equipment inspections
- Verify welding tip alignment and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality
- Perform welding tip changes and adjust heat schedules as required
- Conduct quality checks on completed welds and accurately document test results
- Dress and clean welding tips based on welder, profile, and material requirements
- Stack, band, and properly label finished products
- Operate air-powered banding equipment
- Safely operate a forklift as required
- Read and use micrometers, dial calipers, and tape measures
- Utilize scan guns, kiosks, and label-printing equipment
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area
- Cross-train in other production areas as needed
- Perform additional duties as directed by management
What we are looking for:
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Spot welding, resistance welding, or related welding experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to read micrometers, dial calipers, and tape measures
- Comfortable using scan guns and basic computer/kiosk systems
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow written work instructions and safety procedures
- Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Must be available to work day shift initially and transition to 2nd shift in November
