Job Description

Responsible for the case and profit increase in the disposables, non-foods, equipment and supplies, cleaning supplies and chemical product categories for Performance South Texas operating company. Responsible for the product education and sales training of our Sales Team, Customer Service and Sales Management in the classroom and field as it relates to these product categories.  Responsible for the evaluation of inventory for these categories to ensure the operating company has the proper mix of products for customer’s needs and ease of selling for the Sales Team. Communicate to and with our suppliers and assist in implementing programs for the benefit of the operating company, and supplier. Work closely with key defined partner suppliers to grow their business, specifically.  Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.  Participate in product training meetings that may take place overnight, in or out of state.

Works closely with the Sales Team, Customers, Non-Foods Buyer, Category Manager, Marketing Team, and VP Purchasing, and operates within the parameters of the Corporate administered purchasing programs, including earned income programs.

Minimize the cost of goods with manufacturers and suppliers through assisting in negotiations.

Build marketing material, create promotions and presentations to support case growth of the Sales Team and benefit to Customers.

Provide Merchandising support to sales by assisting in preparing bids, providing product training and information, and recommending pricing strategies and planning promotions.

Design training aids to assist in the education of our Customers, Sales Team, Customer Service and Buyer.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

1 – 3 years of experience in non-foods, (disposables and smallwares), sales and / or purchasing in the foodservice industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Sales / marketing, business or related area

3 – 5 years of experience in non-foods, (disposables and smallwares), sales and / or purchasing in the foodservice industry.
