Summary
Responsible for implementing and sustaining the facility’s Health and Safety management programs, managing the health and safety activities for the plant to ensure regulatory compliance, and protecting human health and driving an environment focused on injury and illness prevention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
Qualifications. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience. Bachelor’s degree in environmental or chemical engineering, safety management, industrial hygiene, industrial risk, management or a related field or equivalent experience. Working knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations is required. A minimum of 5 years of increasing experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, preferably food manufacturing. Must be computer literate. Must complete projects with minimum or no supervision and have good interpersonal skills and leadership characteristics.
Language Skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, procedures, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, employees, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills. Excellent computer skills, proficient with all MS Office applications, design software a plus. Copier, Scanner, Smartphone applications, Fax, Telephone and Email.

Work Environment. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is moderate and hearing protection is required in some areas of the facility.

Pay Range $73,815-$110,725
