SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for maintaining the facility compliance with Tyson's WorkSafe and WeCare programs. This includes completing High Risk Job studies, reading and tracking illness HMP investigations for root cause solutions, completing and documenting floor tours and audits to identify ergonomic opportunities. Team member will also work with in house Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Manager, Safety Manager, Case Manager, Athletic Trainer, and physical therapist daily to investigate and drive the safety culture within this plant.
Other duties include: Utilize the Anago team member to help maintain the knife skills program. This includes monitoring and following up on knife room operators skills and reporting any concerns to appropriate the appropriate Managers. Participate in the planning, installation, or execution of modifications to equipment or work areas to meet ergonomic requirements.
Maintaining and oversight of the Omnisharp program and system to include direct communication with the service representative to maintain scheduled PM’s or requesting service. This also includes directing coordination and supporting maintenance personnel; working with contractors, vendors, or company engineering in the modification or installment of equipment; troubleshooting and resolving new and or different technical problems regarding equipment.
Other responsibilities: present an overview of ergonomics in new hire orientation, tracking of new hire and bid exhibits, maintaining relevant records, routinely updating ergonomic boards and implementing new ways of improving ergonomics within the facility; holding or attending monthly corporate ergonomic meetings and weekly WeCare and Ergonomic meetings to include documentation and distribution of notes; Creating and hosting Ergonomic events as directed; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Education beyond high school including special training vocational school and or college courses preferred.
Experience: Experience with safety, OHS, or Ergonomics required; 3 plus years’ experience in beef facility, safety, OHS, or Ergonomics preferred
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Supervisory: May be responsible for supervising ergonomic personnel who perform somewhat identical and related task or activities.
Travel: 1 -5 trips per year.
