Job Overview:

Working as a member of the Supply Chain team, the Sourcing Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and services required for the production of Barletta’s high-quality pontoon boats. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers while negotiating favorable terms to optimize the supply chain.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
  • Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers for various materials, components, and services required in pontoon boat manufacturing.
  • Assess supplier capabilities, performance history, financial stability, and adherence to quality standards.
  1. Negotiation and Contract Management:
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to draft and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  1. Cost Optimization:
  • Work proactively to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising product quality or delivery timelines.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and benchmarking to ensure competitiveness in the market.
  1. Supplier Relationship Management:
  • Foster strong and collaborative relationships with key suppliers to enhance communication, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  1. Supply Chain Coordination:
  • Collaborate with production planning, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses.
  1. Market Research:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to make informed sourcing decisions.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and technologies that align with the company's strategic objectives.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as geopolitical, economic, or logistical challenges.
  • Develop contingency plans to address disruptions and ensure continuity in the supply of critical materials.
  1. Safety
  • Supports a Barletta Safe culture by adhering to and advocating for the safest behaviors and proactively identifies opportunities to mitigate job-related risks and hazards.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the marine or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in cost analysis and market research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
