Job Overview:

If you are an engineering student looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you. Based in Eden Prairie, MN, this full-time Software Engineering Co-op position offers hands-on experience working alongside software architects and engineers on meaningful product development initiatives. This 40-hour-per-week co-op runs from June 2027 through December 2027 and provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while developing technical and professional skills. 

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

 

  • Collaborate with software architects and engineers to develop software utilities, proof-of-concept applications, automated testing solutions, and product development tools.  
  • Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support development projects and technical initiatives.  
  • Apply technical concepts learned through academic coursework to real-world engineering projects.  
  • Explore emerging technologies and contribute to artificial intelligence initiatives by utilizing modern tools and integrating AI services into software solutions.  
  • Develop practical software engineering skills while supporting innovative product development efforts.  
  • Explore potential career interests and gain exposure to a variety of engineering disciplines prior to graduation.

For This Role, You Will Need:

 

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Junior or senior standing is preferred; sophomore students will also be considered.  
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) in person in Eden Prairie, MN from June 2027 through December 2027.  
  • Interest in software development, product engineering, testing, automation, and emerging technologies.  
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.  

 

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

 

  • Knowledge of .NET and C#. 
  • Exposure to software development practices through coursework, student projects, research, or previous internship experiences.
  • Interest in artificial intelligence, automation, software architecture, or product development.  
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to practical engineering challenges.
