We specialize in Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) that provide advanced capabilities to serve the defense industry. THE WORK
This position is for a Software Engineer (SWE) within Turnkey Training Portfolio on the Singapore Basics Wings Course (BWC) program. We integrate deliverable hardware and deliverable software during production testing in our Orlando facility and then deliver the advanced Training Devices to our customers at their international schoolhouses. We take pride in our work because we know that pilots gain proficiency in our flight simulators that directly translates to effectiveness when they operate the aircraft in the real-world.

As a key member of our Software Engineering team, you can help us take on the world’s most important and complex challenges by providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. In this important role, you will collaborate with a team of technical professionals and interact with outside customers. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.

As a key member of our Software Engineer team, you will
• Perform under general supervision to complete milestones associated with specific projects
• Contribute to the creation of design solutions that address complex engineering problems across the full software cycle
• Develop operational scenarios, based on the customer’s goals and contractual requirements
• Develop system requirements and architectures to ensure customer needs and contracts are appropriately translated into the products development cycle
• Develop the product design and delivery optimization requirements
• Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team that represents all capabilities within DevSecOps.

The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi-tasking.

Note: This position requires a candidate who is a U.S. Citizen and holds a Secret security clearance to start. The role is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's level degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related field and 2 years of relevant work experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.
• Software Lifecycle experience
• Experience with C or C++
• Active secret clearance

Desired skills

• Working knowledge of Linux or Python/bash scripting, or DOORs or JIRA or Model Based Engineering (MBE)
• Working knowledge of Agile or similar tools. Some examples might include one or more of the following; Atlassian tool suite, Docker, Ansible, GitLab, Nexus, AWS, Kubernetes, Vagrant, Packer, Terraform

Ability to work remotely

Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Security Clearance Information

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $88,000 - $152,490. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
