Location: Hybrid role based in Austin, TX (701 W 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751)

Job Type: Contract (12 Months)

Work Schedule: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (Thursdays & Fridays)

Candidates must be local to the Austin area

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 to support a Texas state agency in Austin. This role focuses on designing and developing automation and document intelligence solutions that transform large, complex data into structured, actionable outputs.

This is a great opportunity for a senior-level engineer with strong experience in RPA, document processing, and data-driven automation in a fast-paced Agile environment.

What You’ ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation and document intelligence solutions
• Build and support RPA solutions using tools like Blue Prism and Power Automate
• Develop solutions to process and transform large, multi-hundred-page PDFs into structured data
• Integrate automation solutions with APIs, databases, and external systems
• Analyze structured and unstructured data to create reports and insights
• Enable search capabilities across complex data sets
• Support infrastructure and troubleshoot system issues as needed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement of automation processes and solutions

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with RPA development
• At least 4 years of experience specifically with Blue Prism (attended and unattended bots)
• 8+ years of experience integrating RPA with APIs and databases (RESTful services, SQL)
• 8+ years of experience working with structured and unstructured data
• Experience developing reports and analytics from complex data sources

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Azure infrastructure and troubleshooting
• Experience with Microsoft Power Automate (Desktop and Cloud Flows)
• Proficiency in Java
• Experience with Power BI and SQL
• Experience with Azure AI / Cognitive Search
• Blue Prism Certification
• Microsoft Power Platform Developer Certification
