Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control system software for PLCs, HMIs, and GUIs.
  • Program, test, and troubleshoot automated control systems.
  • Create control specifications, functional descriptions, and I/O requirements.
  • Support electrical design reviews and integration activities.
  • Debug and commission automation systems both in-house and at customer facilities.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with controls engineers and mentor junior engineering team members.
  • Lead the controls portion of projects from design through final customer acceptance.
  • Support system startup, installation, and field service activities.
  • Conduct customer training sessions and provide ongoing technical support.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
  • Must be US Citizen

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in:- Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Engineering
    • Automation Engineering
    • Related technical field

Equivalent industry experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of PLC programming and controls engineering experience.
  • Experience designing, troubleshooting, and commissioning automated systems.
  • Experience with electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
  • Background in manufacturing automation or robotic systems preferred.

Preferred Technical Skills

PLC Programming

  • Siemens PLCs
  • Omron PLCs
  • Mitsubishi iQ-R (preferred)
  • Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs (preferred)

Automation & Controls

  • HMI development
  • GUI development
  • Industrial networking protocols
  • Systems integration
  • Electrical controls troubleshooting
  • Pneumatic systems troubleshooting

Bonus Skills

  • Virtual Commissioning- Siemens Process Simulate

    • Emulate3D

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Must be able to travel to Canada
  • Overnight travel required
  • Occasional extended travel during system installations and startup activities
