Summary
As a vital part of the Curing department, the Smokehouse Operator must learn and understand our cooking process. This position requires an extensive knowledge of HACCP and will be required to complete HACCP training requirements to ensure food safety. This position will be required to adequately record the product's temperature coming out of the cooler. This position requires heavy lifting, the incumbent must be able to lift 70 lbs., and move 1,500 lbs. using the overhead rail system. This position requires strong written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements
6 months of work experience with one employer in the last 24 months
This position requires an extensive knowledge of HACCP and will be required to complete HACCP training requirements to ensure food safety.

Must be available to work the required schedule.
The Team Member is expected to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job duties consistent with standard training and support provided for the role.
This position also requires the ability to communicate effectively, including reading and writing in order to complete job-related tasks.

Job Responsibilities
Safety
The Team Member will be required to follow all Tyson safety policies including, but not limited to, Lock-Out Tag-Out. The Team Member must wear all Personal Protective Equipment deemed necessary by Tyson Foods.
Set-Up
The Smokehouse Operator must ensure adequate documentation is retained during the operation. The Smokehouse Operator must maintain continuous communication with the Smokehouse Lead. Additional tasks may be assigned to the Team Member by Tyson Foods Leadership when necessary.
Operational
The Smokehouse Operator will be required to move, weigh, and record product entering and exiting the smokehouse. The Smokehouse Operator will be required to maintain adequate documentation of product temperatures when leaving the blast cooler to ensure the product is within the HACCP standard. Additional tasks may be assigned to the Team Member by Tyson Foods Leadership when necessary.
Sanitation
The Smokehouse Operator must follow USDA Regulations, Tyson Processing HACCP, Tyson GMP, and Tyson Sanitation policies to ensure the utmost safety of our product. The Smokehouse Operator is required to maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Quality
The Smokehouse Operator is responsible for ensuring the product meets the customer’s standards.
