**Slitter Operator Job Summary:
**A multipurpose steel service company is looking for a Slitter Operator to join their team. Come work for a family-oriented environment that prides themselves on meeting and exceeding external and internal customer service expectations.
Slitter Operator Requirements:
- Operates steel slitting line efficiently and follows operational protocols
- Adheres to production schedules by executing machine orders accurately
- Directs and supervises associated support personnel to ensure smooth workflow
- Provides steel samples as required for quality control purposes
- Assumes responsibility for executing all assigned administrative tasks
- Trains and mentors slitter helpers/slitter setup personnel to transition into operator roles effectively
- Upholds strict adherence to safety regulations outlined in the Plant Employees Manual, ensuring the protection of personnel and facilities
Schedule & Pay:
- 2nd shift-2:30pm-11:00pm (Training on 1st shift for 90 days- 6am-2:30pm)
- $20.00+/HR DOE
Slitter Operator Qualifications:
- Standing/walking 100% of the time
- Lifting to 50 pounds as needed
- Operators must have precise hand-eye coordination to handle equipment and materials effectively
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise
- operating auxiliary tools like Jib cranes for material handling, precision instruments like micrometers and calipers for measurements, pneumatic impact wrenches for assembly tasks, and standard tools such as tape measures
- High school education or GED required
- Running equipment:
Slitters, band breakers, pneumatic banders/crimpers, hand banders, hand cutters, staple guns, electric shears, and nibblers, all tailored for specific tasks within steel processing
