We are seeking an experienced Slitter Operator to join a growing aluminum manufacturing operation in Fairland, Indiana. This position is ideal for a hands-on machine operator with experience in slitting, coil processing, or metal manufacturing.
This is a 12-hour day-shift opportunity, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, working a 3-2-2-3 rotating schedule.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate slitting equipment to cut aluminum coils to customer specifications
- Adjust blades, spacers, tension, and machine speeds for production runs
- Operate uncoilers and recoilers and use a forklift to move coils and finished material
- Inspect finished material using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Perform blade changes, routine maintenance, and basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Monitor production quality, minimize scrap and downtime, and follow all Lockout/Tagout and plant safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Experience operating slitting or similar metal-processing equipment
- Experience working with aluminum, steel, or other metal coils
- Knowledge of uncoilers, recoilers, blade setup, tension, and machine adjustments
- Experience using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Forklift experience and basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work a 6:00 AM–6:00 PM 3-2-2-3 rotating schedule, including scheduled weekends
Work Environment
Heavy industrial aluminum manufacturing environment working around slitting equipment, moving machinery, forklifts, noise, dust, oil, and temperature changes. Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and cut-resistant sleeves.

- Shift: 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Schedule: 3-2-2-3 rotation
- Initial training is Monday–Friday on 8-hour shifts before transitioning to the permanent schedule
