WE ARE HIRING SKILLED QUALITY INSPECTORS FOR FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD SHIFT.
The skilled Quality inspector must be able to read customer drawings, interpret drawing requirements, use inspection tooling, physically inspect parts, and document inspection results. The successful candidate must have the ability to follow work instructions, utilize databases, complex measurements and complete inspection reports. The skilled Quality inspector will work with direction from the quality team lead.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Work from and have the ability to follow work instructions including: finding job paperwork on the network; read blueprints; set-up and use of inspection tooling; and perform visual and dimensional inspections to tight aerospace criteria; inspect parts in various stages of the machining process.
· Be able to perform inspection at all stages of production (First piece, In-process, Final)
· Ability to understand and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
· Interpret customer drawings and identify critical information, including feature dimensions and geometric tolerances, drawing notes, drawing revisions.
· Work independently with minimal supervision.
· Demonstrate the ability to use various inspection tooling and gauging which includes: CMM, Comparator, Microhite, Pocket Surf, Indicator, Johnson Gage, Sunnen Gage, Air Gage, all other hand tools as necessary.
· Perform a timely visual inspection of each work-piece to ensure it is free of any visual defects such as burrs, nicks, surface finish, scratches and other deleterious imperfections (possibly requiring the use of a microscope or other magnification devices).
· Exchange vital information with machine operators and engineering team about the quality of parts being manufactured.
· Understand and assign the frequency of data collection.
· Complete special inspection documentation as necessary, including FAIRs, capability studies, gage R&Rs, etc.
Key Roles
· Provides timely and efficient inspections, understanding that accurate throughput is critical to utilization and productivity.
· Correctly use inspection equipment to follow inspection plan and inspect parts, as well as appropriately selecting alternate methods for inspecting parts and validating non-conformances, and communicates discrepancies to quality engineering and operations teams as necessary.
· Accurately completes inspection paperwork and ensures documentation is correct while notifying team if there is redundant or ineffective inspection occurring. Ensures non-conformances are reported appropriately.
· Works well with co-workers in quality and operations teams
Requirements
The successful candidate must have experience in inspection principles with preference being given to those with experience in inspecting metal parts. Education & Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
· Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
· Ability to perform statistical process control input and interpret statistical data to compensate for machining deviation. Ability to perform mathematical calculations on fractions, percentages, and decimals and metric conversion.
