Brake Press Operator

Job Summary

The Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating brake press equipment to bend, punch, notch, or straighten metal parts according to drawings and specifications. This role supports production by ensuring parts meet quality standards and are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate brake press machines.
• Perform die changes and machine adjustments as needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
• Measure and inspect parts to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Complete production orders in a timely manner.
• Grind or remove burrs from parts when required.
• Package finished products according to customer requirements.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance on equipment.
• Follow all quality, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• 2 to 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in metal fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
• Experience operating overhead cranes is an asset.
• Strong math and measuring skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Comfortable working with large metal components.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
