Position Summary
Vertiv is seeking a Site Services Technician / Structural Welder to join our Anderson, SC manufacturing team. This role combines structural welding and steel fabrication with field service support. Up to 60% travel is required to customer sites across the contiguous U.S. to perform post-installation repairs and ensure our modular buildings meet Vertiv's quality standards. When not traveling, you will support manufacturing operations in our Anderson facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to perform post-installation repairs, including:
- Structural welding repairs
- Touch-up painting
- Fastener and bolt repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineered shop drawings.
- Perform MIG, Flux Core, and Stick (SMAW) welding on structural steel components.
- Fabricate and assemble steel components for modular and prefabricated buildings.
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Operate welding equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and field teams to meet production and project timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Document completed work and report quality or installation issues.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of construction, structural welding, or steel fabrication experience.
- 6+ years of MIG and Stick (SMAW) welding experience; Flux Core welding experience preferred.
- 3+ years of fabrication, rough-in, or millwork experience.
- Experience reading blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineered shop drawings.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe welding practices.
- Ability to travel up to 60% throughout the contiguous U.S.
- Valid US driver's license.
