Site Assistant

** | Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Temp-to-Hire**

AtWork Personnel is seeking a dependable and compassionate Site Assistant to support a local program in Leander, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a team environment, and takes pride in making a positive impact within the community.

In this role, you'll assist with meal preparation, kitchen operations, food delivery, volunteer support, and general administrative duties while helping ensure seniors receive nutritious meals safely and on time.

What You'll Do

Meal Preparation & Distribution

  • Assist with meal preparation, packaging, and distribution for Meals on Wheels participants.

  • Support daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and serving.

  • Help maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Label, date, and properly store food and kitchen supplies.

Meal Delivery

  • Deliver meals safely and courteously using a company or personal vehicle.

  • Build positive relationships with program participants while providing excellent customer service.

  • Follow assigned delivery routes and maintain accurate delivery records.

Kitchen Operations

  • Operate commercial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, and food preparation equipment.

  • Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen utensils.

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, dining areas, refrigerators, freezers, and food storage areas.

  • Maintain inventory and assist with menu posting and kitchen documentation.

Administrative & Team Support

  • Answer phones, perform data entry, and provide general office support.

  • Assist with volunteer coordination and daily site activities.

  • Support the Site Director, Lead Cook, and other team members as needed.

  • Maintain confidentiality and provide professional service to participants, volunteers, and staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Valid Texas Driver's License with current auto insurance.

  • Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain quickly).

  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous kitchen, food service, caregiving, nonprofit, or customer service experience is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 45 pounds throughout the shift.

  • Comfortable working in a commercial kitchen environment.

  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle while making scheduled meal deliveries.

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
