Job Summary
Are you an experienced project manager in the commercial sign and branding industry with a passion for supporting and scaling national account programs?
The National Sign Program Project Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing complex, multi-location signage and branding initiatives for national accounts. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle—from scope development through execution and billing—ensuring consistency, quality, and brand compliance across all client locations.
This position requires a strong focus on end-to-end project management within the signage industry, including coordination of fabrication, permitting, installation, and vendor management across diverse markets. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for national clients, aligning project execution with brand standards while delivering on time and within budget.
Additionally, this role drives program-level excellence, contributing to continuous improvement efforts that enhance scalability, efficiency, and consistency across national rollout programs.
National Account & Client Leadership
- Serve as the primary project management lead for national sign and branding accounts, ensuring consistent delivery across multi-site programs
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on signage, branding execution, and rollout strategy
- Collaborate with clients to define program scope, timelines, and brand standards for nationwide implementation
- Provide proactive communication, including regular reporting on project milestones, risks, and performance across all active locations
Project & Program Management (Sign Industry Focus)
- Own and manage the full lifecycle of commercial signage and branding projects—from kickoff through fabrication, installation, and final billing
- Lead concurrent projects or national rollout programs, ensuring alignment with client expectations and operational capacity
- Develop and execute detailed project plans to meet client brand standards specific to signage production, permitting, and installation workflows
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including design, estimating, manufacturing, permitting, and field installation crews
- Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships across regions to ensure high-quality and consistent execution
- Ensure all signage elements meet brand standards, regulatory requirements, and quality expectations
Execution Excellence & Delivery
- Oversee day-to-day project execution for national account programs, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
- Monitor progress using project management tools such as Taskray, Smartsheet, Excel, as well as other systems and provide visibility into performance metrics across programs
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with multi-location rollouts, including permitting, logistics, and installation constraints
- Manage scope changes, timelines, and cost adjustments while maintaining client satisfaction and program integrity
- Facilitate internal and external meetings to drive alignment and accountability across all sign project phases
Financial & Portfolio Management
- Manage a project portfolio exceeding $1.5M annually in closed and billed work
- Develop and maintain detailed budgets for national signage programs, including forecasting and cost tracking
- Analyze financial performance and adjust project strategies to meet gross profit margins and budget targets
- Ensure accurate billing and financial reconciliation across all program phases
Process Improvement & Program Scalability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing project delivery within national sign programs
- Develop and implement best practices, templates, and tools to improve efficiency across large-scale rollouts
- Contribute to the standardization of processes across permitting, fabrication, and installation workflows
- Support organizational growth by improving the scalability of national account project execution
Professional Development & Leadership
- Track and evaluate project performance to ensure achievement of short- and long-term business objectives
- Mentor and support junior team members such as Project Coordinators or Assistant Project Managers by delegating tasks aligned with their strengths and their support roles
- Participate in training, industry events, and conferences to stay current on signage trends, technologies, and best practices
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment focused on innovation and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Business, Construction Management, Manufacturing, or related field
- 5+ years of project management experience within the commercial sign, branding, or construction industry, with a strong emphasis on multi-site or national programs
- Proven experience managing national account rollouts, including signage, branding conversions, resets, and new construction projects
- Strong understanding of signage systems such as channel letters, monument, pylon, blade and other sign types as well as ACM panels, canopies, drive-thru systems and cladding
- Experience working across diverse verticals (retail, QSR, petroleum, banking, hospitality, etc.) with strict brand standards
- Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and coordinate multi-region installations
- Working knowledge of permitting processes preferred
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Office, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Taskray, Jobscope, or similar)
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- PMP certification a plus
