General Purpose
Under the guidance of the Design Director, the Designer I supports the creation of custom sign and display designs tailored to each client’s specific requirements. This entry-level design position focuses on producing high-quality layouts and graphics that bring our customers’ visions to life while learning the fundamentals of YESCO's design process and standards.

A Day in the Life
As a Designer I, your day begins with reviewing design requests and collaborating with the sales team to understand client needs. You’ll use CorelDraw and other design tools to develop creative sign concepts, refine presentation drawings, and assist with layouts and estimating documentation. Throughout the day, you'll juggle multiple projects, contribute to client and internal design discussions, and build your technical and creative skills in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop creative, effective sign designs using design software
• Prepare presentation drawings for client review
• Collaborate with sales representatives to ensure designs align with project requirements
• Assist with estimating documentation, including flats, color renderings, and 2D layout views
• Maintain organized project files and meet scheduled deadlines
• Participate in internal design reviews and feedback sessions
• Stay updated on current design practices and industry trends
• Print, compile, and distribute design materials as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in graphic design; sign design experience preferred
• Proficiency in CorelDraw preferred; experience with Adobe Illustrator and CAD tools also valued
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp knowledge helpful but not required
• Ability to draw to scale and prepare design documentation
• Strong creativity and visual communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Effective communicator who works well with sales and cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite and city permit drawing preparation is a plus
• Portfolio or work samples required
