Description
We're restructuring our Orlando showroom and looking for one person to run it — not assist, not co-manage, run it. You'll train side by side with one of our company leaders for your first four months, and by day 120 the showroom is yours: the sales floor, the inventory, the schedule, and a service technician who reports to you.
About GEM Supply
GEM Supply is a family-owned janitorial and cleaning supply company serving businesses across Florida and Georgia. Our Orlando megastore is where cleaning contractors, schools, property managers, restaurants, and facility teams come to shop products, see equipment in action, and get their machines serviced. We've built our reputation on people who show up, execute, and take care of customers the right way — and we invest in the people who make that happen.
About the Role
Twelve months from now, you'll be running a showroom that customers count on: walk-ins greeted and helped fast, shelves stocked, orders placed on time, the repair bench humming, and a weekly report to ownership that shows a location under control. You'll have full charge of daily operations and be the face of GEM Supply for our Orlando customers. This role is built for someone who wants real ownership of a location — with structured training up front and real authority after.
What You'll Do
- Own daily showroom operations — opening, closing, register/POS management, and end-of-day reconciliation.
- Drive sales with walk-in and repeat commercial customers: product recommendations, quotes, follow-ups, and on-the-spot problem solving.
- Manage inventory end to end — track stock levels, place vendor orders, receive shipments, and keep displays full and presentable.
- Build the weekly schedule and coordinate with our in-house service technician, who backs up the floor during busy periods and reports to you.
- Own customer relationships — know our top accounts by name and be the person they ask for.
- Send a concise weekly report to leadership covering sales, inventory needs, and anything that needs attention.
Pay & Benefits
- $22–$25 per hour, based on experience — full-time, Monday through Friday.
- Competitive benefits package including health insurance
- Paid time off and paid holidays
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Life Improvement expense reimbursement programs — financial development support, counseling and learning platforms, education and leadership development, fitness and wellness reimbursements, volunteer and family support initiatives, product discounts, and charitable matching (based on eligibility)
- Ongoing professional development and training
Requirements
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 2+ years in retail, showroom, counter sales, or store operations — with at least some time leading a shift, a team, or a location.
- Comfort running a POS system and managing inventory and vendor orders.
- A steady, professional customer-service manner — including when a customer is frustrated.
- Self-sufficiency: after training, you'll run this location without someone looking over your shoulder.
- Able to be on your feet most of the day and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice to have:
- Experience in janitorial/sanitation, industrial, restaurant, or other B2B supply sales.
- Experience training or supervising others.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
