Shop Technician
Job Summary
The Shop Technician is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of equipment including diesel machines, heavy equipment, agricultural vehicles, mowers, and construction machinery. This role supports daily operations by ensuring all equipment is safe, functional, and operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, assign, and monitor work orders using internal systems
- Track machine service intervals and perform scheduled maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues across multiple equipment types
- Perform repairs on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and fleet vehicles
- Maintain and service agricultural equipment, mowers, and construction vehicles
- Order parts and manage inventory needed for repairs and maintenance
- Document all work performed accurately in maintenance systems
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment
Equipment & Machinery Serviced
- Diesel engines and equipment
- Heavy construction equipment (excavators, loaders, cranes, etc.)
- Agricultural machinery (tractors, implements, harvest equipment)
- Commercial mowers and turf equipment
- Construction vehicles and compact equipment
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced knowledge of tools and equipment
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Familiarity with a wide range of equipment including agricultural and construction machinery
- Comfortable using technology such as laptops or tablets for diagnostics and work order systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
