Job Description

We are seeking a Cable Shop Technician to support Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) operations in a shop environment. This role focuses on splicing, repairing, preparing, and spooling ESP cable for field deployment. This is not a field position — all work is performed in the shop.

This is a hands-on role requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work extended hours. No prior cable experience is required — candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Work Schedule & Hours

- Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM–5:00 PM

- Overtime expected

- On-call rotation every other weekend

- Average hours: ~70 hours on shorter weeks, ~85 hours on full production weeks

- Significant overtime opportunity

Key Responsibilities

- Splice and repair ESP power cable

- Perform cable preparation and termination work

- Operate cable spooling equipment

- Inspect cable for defects and damage

- Maintain shop tools and equipment

- Follow safety and quality control procedures

- Support shop operations as needed

Qualifications

- Mechanical aptitude (no cable experience required)

- Ability to lift heavy cable and work in a shop environment

- Willingness to work long hours and overtime

- Strong attention to detail and safety compliance
