North Central Utility (NCU), the second-largest Utility Trailer dealer in the US, is looking for a self-motivated and results-driven Shop Foreman to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on working Foreman position, with the expectation that approximately 95% of work time will be billable.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assume Service Manager’s responsibilities when the Service Manager is absent, ensuring uninterrupted shop operations
• Inspect, troubleshoot and perform a variety of repairs on semi-trailers
• Perform all aspects of trailer body & wreck repairs
• Diagnose and make recommendations to manager on repairs as required
• Air and electrical system diagnostics and repair
• Preventative maintenance
• Conduct quality control inspections of repairs as needed to ensure work meets company and customer standards
• Conduct daily equipment and vehicle inspections as needed to identify and address safety, maintenance, or operational concerns
• Perform all types of welding (i.e. - aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel)
• Fabricate or modify trailer body parts
• Maintain allocated time on all repairs and modifications
• Certified to conduct DOT inspections
• Perform job assignments in accordance with DOT requirements, government laws, regulations, and ordinances
• All work processes will be electronically documented in the system
• Operate a forklift
• Operate a scissor lift
• Follow company repair and safety best practices
• Maintain established company quality standards
• Maintain and promote a safe work environment
• Use and promote PPE and the use of safety equipment
• Prepared and ready to work at the start of each shift
• Helpful and considerate to co-workers and customers
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and rules of conduct
• Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
• Assist other technicians as needed
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Previous experience required
• Leadership experience preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Forklift experience preferred
• Welding or fabrication experience preferred
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), technology, and computer proficiency
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• Driver's License
