Job Overview:

Structural Steel Foreman – 1st Shift

Location: Coatesville, PA

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • Every other two-week period: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • The alternating 5:00 AM–5:30 PM schedule is expected to continue through at least December
  • Optional Saturday shifts are available every week

Position Overview

JGM is seeking two hands-on Structural Steel Foremen to lead daily production activities within our Coatesville fabrication facility, specializing in D1.1 structural steel beam and column fabrication. This is a working leadership role focused on coordinating crews, driving production, maintaining workflow, and supporting a strong safety culture throughout the shop.

The Foreman will oversee teams that include machine operators, welders, fitters, and material handlers while ensuring work is organized, staged properly, and completed safely and efficiently. This role is less about being the most technically advanced operator on the floor and more about leading people, keeping production moving, solving problems, and delivering results.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily production activities and assign work
  • Coordinate workflow between departments and processes
  • Monitor production goals, deadlines, and shop performance
  • Support equipment and operational troubleshooting as needed
  • Reinforce safety procedures and quality standards
  • Coach employees and help develop newer team members
  • Maintain communication with shop leadership throughout the shift

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial environments
  • 3+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication
  • Prior experience in a beam, column, or heavy structural steel environment preferred
  • Previous experience leading or coordinating crews on a production floor
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and production instructions
  • Hands-on leadership style with a team-first mentality
