Job Overview:

Position Description:

Ship and receive product, conducting duties with Safety-minded attitude that maintains and enhances a Safety-culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.

Primary Responsibilities:

•    Loads and unloads materials from inbound and outbound trucks
 •    Verifies condition and quantity of materials being shipped or received
 •    Moves, stores, stacks, and delivers materials and products to designated storage or production areas
 •    Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and walkers
 •    Scans and verifies data in Adage matches actual shipments as needed
 •    Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
 •    Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Frequently communicates and converses in English
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Basic working knowledge of computer applications
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP and USDA regulations preferred. 
  • Maintain workspace in an organized and orderly manner. 
  • Treat equipment with respect and report any equipment damage. 
  • Work closely with maintenance to root cause problems and create practices to avoid damaging equipment. 
  • Hand-off all equipment in an organized manner to other shifts. 
  • Minimum of one year forklift experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent moving up to 50 pounds daily.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed and according to CBA if applicable. 
  • Continually remain stationary and move about on concrete surfaces for entire duration of shift.    
  • Constantly tolerate extreme varied temperatures. 
  • Frequently uses hand-eye coordination.
  • Frequently uses computer or electronic devices. 

Training Period:

Minimum 90 days meeting all above requirements; up to two years


This is a union position and comes with benefits provided by the union, upon completion of the 90 day probationary period. Benefits include: medical, vision and dental as well as 1 week of paid time off after 1 year of employment.
