 A.L. Hansen Mfg. Co., an ISO certified company, is a leading manufacturer in the commercial hardware industry located in Waukegan, IL is looking for a Shipping Superviosr to join our growing team.  

Requirements

 Supervision and scheduling of workload and personnel in the shipping department. Lead the department in safety, training, and production standards. 

1. Direct supervision of a diverse workforce.

2. Schedule packaging jobs to ensure that the material is ready for shipment using

work orders and packing slips.

3. Ensure the packers are utilizing proper packaging standards.

4. Check that proper labeling is applied.

5. Supervise packers on the floor for their productivity and accuracy.

6. Maintain a clean and safe working area.

7. Order and bring pallets.

8. Review distributor shipment worksheets.

9. Must wear personal protective equipment that includes eye protection and gloves

for packing bulk items.

10. Communicate any problems or difficulties to the production manager.

11. Represent supervised department in production meetings.

12. Communicate with customer service to resolve any shipping issues.

13. Communicate with production supervisors on items needed in shipping to ensure

on time shipments.

14. Work closely with receiving and quality control to ensure parts are processed in a

timely manner to meet shipping schedule. Including hot orders.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Required skills, licenses, knowledge, experience, or abilities:

1. 5 plus years of experience in management/supervisory skills in a manufacturing

environment.

2. Ability to use and operate box staplers, automatic and manual banding.

3. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word and Teams

4. Must be able to read and interpret work orders.

5. Ability to learn computer programs to create labels.
