We are currently accepting applications for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor in our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Watertown, WI, conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee. This is an exempt position working, 3-4 days per week from 4:30AM – 5:30PM.

JOB SUMMARY:  The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor coordinates daily operations in the warehouse, transportation, quality, manufacturing, customer service, and execution of supply chain plan and strategies.  The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will ensure that all jobs are performed following all company, safety and quality policies while maintaining high productivity.  The S&R Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, coaching, corrective action, and reviewing employee's performance fairly and consistently.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws for all direct reports.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work, coaching, appraising performance, training, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Responsible for the overall safety of employees through training programs, plant security and equipment safety.
  • Responsible for improving working conditions, throughput, morale, quality of product, and shipping and receiving efficiencies.
    1. Responsible for the safety and productivity of people 
    2. Responsible for the cleanliness of the North and South Warehouses 
  • Inspect shipments to verify that all items are within customer specifications using predetermined quality parameters.
    1. Responsible for the accuracy of all paperwork and shipping documents
  • Interprets company policies and regulations to administer coaching, corrective action and training through the certification process
    1. Coordinating, monitoring, and tracking all training with employees.
    2. Responsible for the mentoring, training, and monitoring of S&R clerk, Warehouse Lead and Warehouse Technicians to include spot checking all paperwork.
  • Leverage advanced capabilities of the Solochain WMS and Navision Customer Service platforms to optimize order scheduling for Watertown operations.
  • Coordinate activities between shifts and ensure timely shipments
    1. Looking 48 to 72 hours into the schedule of shipments inbound/outbound
  • Assist with SOP development and process improvement where applicable.
    1. Updating once per year the SOP’s you are assigned, and sending out pertinent FYI’s associated with any changes.
  • Work with Procurement, Logistics, R&D, and Customer Service to ensure ingredients and finished products are received and shipped as scheduled
    1. North and South side waste removal.
    2. Manage the finished goods warehouse.
    3. Responsible for inventory cycle counts and year-end inventory counts.
  • Communicate day to day activities and follow-up on daily correspondences
    1. Monitoring the inbound and outbound schedule for any changes that may need to be made.
  • Responsibility to the Crew.
    1. Responsible for all payroll and time/attendance activities.
    2. Responsible for all personnel or performance issues.
    3. Responsible for monthly crew schedule for S&R staff
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the Production Superintendents, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures
    1. Responsible for completing all tasks passed down from management in a timely manner or addressed before the end of the current work cycle.
  • Facilitate communication/coordination between internal customer groups and external carrier contacts to ensure attainment of service level objectives.  Focus efforts on timely pick-up/delivery and overall stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Perform all necessary transactions within Solochain/Navision/TMS to complete and/or close an order either inbound or outbound.
  • Monitor data flow between Solochain, NAV, and other systems to ensure synchronization of warehouse and transportation information.   Ensure trucking carriers are providing accurate and timely information.  Elevate issues as necessary.
  • Identify gaps in capabilities/capacity and provide options and/or solutions.  Manage all order change activity within Solochain.  Communicate with stakeholders as necessary.
  • Provide responsive distribution support for short lead time orders, expedited shipments, shipping mode conversions, and other activities as necessary.
  • Monitor carrier equipment pools at all facilities to ensure adequate supplies of empty trailers for shipping.  
  • Interact as necessary with Logistics and Customer Service regarding carrier performance issues, capacity concerns, and service requirements.
  • Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner, and drive personal vehicle for work as needed.
  • Travel to training, other CQC facilities, and/or complete transfers of materials as needed using Company van.
  • Requires extensive use of the computer to include: Excel Spreadsheets, Word, Warehouse Management System, ERP System, Internet Applications / Programs
  • Maintain regular attendance at work.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of related shipping and receiving experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems, Inventory Control Systems, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) would be helpful
  • Must have an acceptable driving record and valid driver’s license
