Position Summary
The primary responsibility for this role will be for shipping Johnstech products to customers both domestically and internationally. This position will back up the Inventory Coordinator as needed.
Shipping/Receiving (Primary Responsibility)
- Pack and ship products to customers, suppliers and 3rd party, both domestically and internationally.
- Work with outside shipping sources such as UPS, Fed Ex and U.S. Customs & Border Protection Agency. Lift up to 50 lb. boxes and use of dolly’s and ladders (up to 6 feet)
- Register and complete production line information using Johnstech’s ERP system (Microsoft AX).
- Reserve sales order items in our ERP system and resolve issues
- For international shipments, assign a filing with U.S. Customs by transmitting data to their ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) software.
- Ensure internationally shipped items are compliant with U.S. customs requirements and keep up to date on export compliance changes.
- Research any custom compliance issues and resolve before shipping product. This includes a review of codes, inco-terms, trade zones, duty registration numbers, invoice/proforma paperwork and client requests.
- On an as needed basis, deliver shipments using personal vehicle to local outside shipping sources.
- Inventory, order and restock shipping supplies as needed to ensure supplies are fully stocked.
Inventory Tasks (Back up responsibilities)
- Receive, count and document incoming parts and material quantities.
- Process pick list and inventory adjustments daily to keep inventory correct.
- Issue designated items and daily pull parts for assembly work packets.
- Count and issue precious metal contacts and ground insets to assembly.
- Remove obsolete inventory from stock in reaction to engineering change orders (ECO’s).
- Assure the accuracy of data input into the inventory system of issued, cycle and receiving count quantities.
- Problem solves issues that arise through research and analysis.
- Periodically conduct biweekly and quarterly cycle counts of inventory using first in, first out concepts.
- Provide inventory details to other departments through reports and spreadsheets as needed.
- Organize and maintain the Inventory locations, both physical and digital.
- Create stock orders for make items to replenish low inventory.
- Create stock orders and provide the paperwork to the buyer for purchase items to replenish low inventory.
- Register and complete production line information using Johnstech’s ERP system (Microsoft AX).
Additional Duties
- Handle facility maintenance requests as needed
- Additional duties as required by supervisor
- Understands Management Policy statements and organizational objectives. Follows Management System procedures and work instructions. Identifies and reports problems, participates in fixing problems and assists in improving processes and products.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Outlook. ERP/MRP systems a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic math kills and ability to work with numbers
- Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions
- Ability to lift and move materials as required (typically up to 25-50 lbs)
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as part of a team
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, stockroom, manufacturing or inventory experience
- Experience with barcode scanners or inventory tracking systems
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
- Experience performing cycle counts of physical inventories
- Familiarity with manufacturing BOM’s, part numbers and inventory transactions
Pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00. This salary information serves as a general guideline. Several factors are considered when making an offer for this position including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, key skills, market and business conditions.
