Lead the Way as a Shipping Manager at Hood Container Corporation

Are you ready to take the reins and lead a vital part of a growing manufacturing operation? Hood Container Corporation is seeking a driven and experienced Shipping Manager to head up the shipping department at our modern manufacturing plant in Lebanon, TN, just outside of Nashville. The Hood Container Nashville plant specializes in corrugated converting. Our capabilities include digital printing, lithographic printing, laminating, and multiple converting options including Rotary Die and Flexo. 

What it Takes:

• Five or more years of experience working in high-speed shipping operations in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in the Packaging Industry preferred. 
• Experience leading a team of Forklift & Other Shipping Personnel across multiple shifts (2 shifts)
• Experience working in a facility with ISO/AIB/SQF requirements preferred
• Able to use computer tools such as Microsoft Office & Amtech 

What You'll Do

You'll be the backbone of our shipping operations; a key leader trusted to guide and mentor our team of forklift drivers and shipping personnel. This isn't just about moving products; it's about strategic coordination, problem-solving, and ensuring our customers receive the quality products they expect. You'll work closely with our third-party logistics (3PL) partners and the wider operations team to meet critical goals for safety, quality, and production. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading your team across two shifts, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of excellence.

• Managing the daily workflow by scheduling shipments for our company fleet and common carriers.

• Ensuring quality control by monitoring the presentation of pallets and maintaining our equipment.

• Collaborating with stakeholders like customer service and external trucking companies to handle hot-rush items and overflow deliveries.

• Executing key administrative tasks, including processing bills of lading, making dock appointments, and conducting quarterly inventories.
