Basic Function
Under limited supervision, monitor material movement of product being produced /completed. Responsible to use knowledge of inventory practices / Quality control to maintain accurate information on inventory levels and Quality.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain proper movement of material in all areas
- Conduct inventory cycle counts.
- Identify sources of cycle count variance and work with appropriate departments to correct.
- Count, weigh, schedule, and document incoming material and outgoing freight.
- Load different types of Shipping Vehicles- LTL, flat beds, ect
- Report shortages and damaged materials to supervisor.
- Accurately complete shipping claims and export documentation.
- Maintain necessary documentation for shipping/receiving.
- Assist in getting orders ready for shipment including bag, box, skid and strap all materials
- Safely move material with cart, pallet jack & forklift. Properly operate auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain clean and safe environment.
- Supervise 2-3 employees on a daily basis
- Must know and follow the quality policy and comply with all requirements of the quality systems manual
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Required Skills
· Requires 5+ years related experience in material movement, Inventory control and Quality
· Good verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
· Ability to follow oral instructions.
· Good basic math skills
· High school graduate or GED
· High accuracy in data entry work
· Good organizational skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel
· Must be able to use standard measuring tools such as measuring tape, caliper, and micrometer.
· Computer skills- Office suite, SAP experience a plus
· Inventory control and Quality knowledge a plus
· Hours are M-F, 8am-4:30pm. However, flexibility will be necessary.
