Job Overview:

We are seeking an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Logistics / Shipping Coordinator to manage daily shipping activities at a busy manufacturing facility in Cypress, TX.

This position is responsible for coordinating outbound shipments, preparing shipping documentation, communicating with freight carriers and customers, and working closely with production, scheduling, customer service, and warehouse teams.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, or warehouse operations and is comfortable managing multiple shipments and priorities while maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and coordinate outbound customer shipments.
  • Arrange transportation with freight carriers and customer-designated carriers.
  • Prepare bills of lading (BOLs), packing lists, shipping labels, and other required documentation.
  • Verify product numbers, quantities, lot numbers, weights, and shipping addresses for accuracy.
  • Confirm orders are properly packaged, labeled, and ready before scheduled carrier arrival.
  • Coordinate daily shipping priorities with production and warehouse personnel.
  • Communicate shipment status, delays, delivery information, and other updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Obtain freight quotes and assist with selecting cost-effective transportation options.
  • Track shipments and assist with delivery issues, shortages, damages, and freight claims.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
  • Verify hazardous-material shipments meet applicable DOT documentation and labeling requirements.
  • Assist with inventory transactions, finished-goods locations, and cycle counts.
  • Ensure carriers and drivers follow facility safety and loading procedures.
  • Support receiving, warehouse, and administrative functions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve shipping accuracy, on-time delivery performance, and freight costs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, customer service, or warehouse coordination highly preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of bills of lading, freight classifications, and common shipping documentation.
  • Hazmat and/or DOT shipping experience is a plus.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and inventory or ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple shipments and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers, carriers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and other departments.
